Building on the foundational knowledge from ChatGPT 101, this advanced session explores deeper functionality, customization, and higher-impact uses of ChatGPT in the utility sector. The course is designed for participants who already have a basic working knowledge of ChatGPT or who have completed the ChatGPT 101 course.

Through practical exercises and real-world utility examples, participants learn how to optimize ChatGPT responses, integrate AI into more complex workflows, and apply the technology to strategic decision-making and customer engagement.

This session supports LDC professionals in administrative, communications, and customer service roles and focuses on using ChatGPT for tasks such as managing large datasets, simplifying complex workflows, and generating more detailed analytical outputs.

  • Format: Virtual, 4-hour advanced session
  • Includes: Materials and assessment tools

This course qualifies for 3.0 hours of CPD with HRPA upon successful completion.

Course Outline

This course includes hands-on exercises and covers the following topics:

  • Creating custom data analysis prompts
  • Building templates for recurring tasks
  • Using ChatGPT to compare and analyze complex documents
  • Generating and editing technical content
  • Creating clear visuals for reports
  • Applying quality control and fact-checking techniques

Participants will work with multiple browser-based tools during the session. Reference materials will be provided in advance.

Instructors from Pearl Street will use the latest paid version of ChatGPT. Participants are encouraged to have a paid ChatGPT account to fully participate in numeric, analytical, and visualization exercises. Techniques explored may also apply to tools such as Copilot, Gemini, or Claude.

This course is designed for individuals who want to improve their ability to use ChatGPT for more advanced tasks and workflows.

Participants should have completed ChatGPT 101 or already be comfortable using basic ChatGPT functionality.

Are courses available online or in-person?

What technology do I require to take an online course?

Yes. We recommend using technology with both audio and video capability. We use ZOOM, so be sure it is installed on your computer. It is helpful if you use headphones to help hear one another clearly. As some sessions are interactive, we request the video function be turned on. While the session will work on a tablet, we recommend a desktop or laptop computer as the experience is more engaging and rewarding. A link to the session will be sent via email to you prior to the session. We encourage you to login a minimum of 5-minutes prior to the session start to ensure you successfully connect to the session. 

For online courses, can I use a tablet or phone?

We recommend using a computer for both audio and video capability. While the session will work on a tablet, using a computer provides a more interactive experience. We do not recommend using a phone.
