Course Summary

Operating in the busy electricity sector can leave Managers and Supervisors without sufficient training on how to effectively apply Management Rights in the workplace. Without this foundation, both employees and employers face increased risk, including poor decision-making, loss of credibility, and unclear performance management.

This half-day program equips Supervisors and Managers with the tools needed to represent the interests of the employer, act in accordance with collective agreements, and conduct fair, respectful, and effective workplace investigations.

• Format: In-person, half-day program
• Course Fee: $950 + HST
• Early Bird: $875 + HST
• Credits: 6.5 CPD hours with HRPA

Course fees include all materials and assessment tools.

The following topics will be covered:

• The principles of Management Rights
• The roles and responsibilities of the employee, supervisor, and union
• How to undertake and lead workplace investigations and interviews
• Culpable versus non-culpable conduct
• The concept of Just Cause
• How to apply progressive discipline effectively
• The importance of fair and consistent performance management in a unionized environment

This program is designed for management employees who have direct and/or indirect supervisory responsibilities over unionized employees.

Early Bird pricing is available up to four (4) weeks prior to the session date.

Cancellations received in writing ten (10) working days prior to the course date will receive a full refund, less a 20% service fee (plus 13% HST). No refunds will be issued after this period.

Substitution of registrants from the same company may be made up to the course date.

The MEARIE Group reserves the right to postpone or cancel any course due to low enrollment. In such cases, participants will receive a full refund or may transfer their registration to a future session.
