Making the Most of Copilot - 12 Week Training Workshop

Nov 4, 2026 - Jan 27, 2027, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Price: $3,499.00 + HST

Course Summary:

Includes: Materials, two facilitators in every session, and six open office hours

Previous knowledge required: Everyday working knowledge of Microsoft Teams and the Microsoft 365 tools your role uses, and some exposure to Copilot. You do not need to be an expert. This program teaches Copilot inside those tools, so it is not the place to learn the tools themselves.

Most utilities are in the same place when it comes to AI. Copilot is on, the licences are paid for, and there is a quiet sense that it should be doing more than tidying up meeting notes. Nobody is quite sure what they are missing, and nobody wants to be the first one to say so out loud.

That is where this program starts, and it is why the +ai Mindset comes before any tool. This learning is your people plus Copilot. Artificial intelligence is remarkably good at seeing patterns. Your team knows what is important for your utility, community, and the customer on the phone. Xx Put the two together and the work gets xx faster, sharper and more yours.

The program is grounded in the learn-and-return model. Six modules of three hours each, spaced so that participants go back to real work in between. Six open office hours where they bring what they are actually doing, with real files, real meetings and real deadlines. Eighteen hours of instruction and six hours of applied support, twenty-four contact hours in total, across twelve weeks.

The spacing is deliberate. Participants learn something in a session, apply it in real work, find where it does not go smoothly, and bring that back to the facilitators and to each other. That learning loop is where capability builds and adoption turns into adaptation.

Course Outline

The program includes:

Course 1 | Collaboration: Module 1 The +ai Mindset and Module 2 Copilot in Microsoft Teams

Course 2 |  Communication: Module 3 Copilot in Microsoft Word and Module 4 Copilot in Microsoft Outlook

Course 3 |  Operations: Module 5 Copilot in Microsoft Excel and Module 6 Copilot in Microsoft PowerPoint

Certificate Received: +ai Mindset Copilot Certificate

The three courses are delivered in sequence as a single twelve-week cohort. Participants who attend and complete all six modules receive the +ai Mindset Copilot Certificate, recognizing completion of the full applied program, including practice with the judgment required to use Copilot well in a utility setting.

Required Courses: This certificate consists of the following courses and modules.

Collaboration: Course One

The +ai Mindset and Copilot in Microsoft Teams. Six hours of instruction and two open office hours over four weeks. After this course, participants will be able to:

●       Embrace the +ai Mindset and begin to explore who they are  becoming with artificial intelligence

●       Explain in plain language what Copilot is doing, and name the places where their own judgment matters most

●       Decide when to bring Copilot into a piece of work and when to carry it themselves

●       Leave a meeting with the recap, transcript, action items and summary already written

●       Adapt how they work rather than simply adopt another tool

Communication: Course Two

Copilot in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook. Six hours of instruction and two open office hours over four weeks. After this course, participants will be able to:

●       Turn a page of rough notes into a structured, finished document in minutes

●       Draft, rewrite and summarize at pace, in a voice that still sounds like your organization

●       Work through a full inbox using thread summaries and suggested replies

●       Write clearer emails faster

Operations: Course Three

Copilot in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. Six hours of instruction and two open office hours over four weeks. After this course, participants will be able to:

●       Ask questions of a spreadsheet in plain language and get answers back

●       Generate formulas, analyze data and build charts on their own

●       Build a full presentation from a prompt or an existing document

●       Turn a finished report into board-ready slides

Who should attend?

The program is well-suited to professionals across all functional areas and career stages whose organizations have already deployed Copilot and want their teams to use it effectively.

Two Ways To Learn

The price is the same either way. Your team gets the same courses, hours and facilitators. The choice is about where the learning happens.

Option A: We host. Four Simple Words runs the program inside a purpose-built Microsoft environment we own and manage. Every participant gets full Copilot features, we work on course-specific material prepared for the session, and your IT team can sit this one out entirely. It is the fastest way to get a cohort started.

Option B: You host. Four Simple Words works with your IT department to set up the program within your Microsoft environment. Your people learn in the system they work in every day, with the permissions and settings they always use, and everything they build stays with you. This option starts with a technical readiness check, and we agree on a start date together once everything is verified.

Schedule

The twelve sessions run from November 4 to January 27, skipping the week of December 30. Modules run Wednesday mornings 9:00 to noon. Office hours run 11:00 to noon, with week two shifted to 1:00 to 2:00 for Remembrance Day.

We encourage you to login a minimum of 5-minutes prior to the session start to ensure you successfully connect to the session.

For online courses, can I use a tablet or phone?

We recommend using a computer for both audio and video capability. While the session will work on a tablet, using a computer provides a more interactive experience. We do not recommend using a phone.
