Course Summary

In today’s utility sector, AI tools such as ChatGPT are changing how work gets done. Using these tools effectively requires skill, awareness, and careful consideration of data accuracy and privacy. This practical three-hour session introduces utility professionals to ChatGPT in a way that respects the sector’s regulatory, security, and operational realities.

Through hands-on exercises and real utility-based examples, participants learn how ChatGPT can streamline routine tasks, enhance communication, and support decision-making. Facilitators guide participants through prompting techniques, evaluating AI-generated outputs for accuracy, and identifying which tasks are—and are not—appropriate for AI assistance.

Participants will leave with practical skills and a balanced understanding of how ChatGPT can act as a “second desk” to support daily work.

*While not required, completing DiSC can be helpful in understanding and developing communication styles.

• Evolving from writing with AI to editing and refining outputs
• Discussion on how ChatGPT may impact regulatory filings, operations, and LDC communications

Prerequisites: Participants should be comfortable using web-based digital tools. Reference materials will be provided prior to the session.

Participants must have an OpenAI ChatGPT account at least one week prior to the course. The session will highlight differences between free and paid ChatGPT accounts.

This course is designed for anyone interested in exploring how ChatGPT can be integrated into their daily workflow.

It is particularly valuable for decision-makers considering the broader implications of AI within their organization.

Cancellations received in writing ten (10) working days prior to the course date will receive a full refund, less a 20% service fee (plus 13% HST). No refunds will be issued after this period.

Substitution of registrants from the same company may be made up to the course date.

The MEARIE Group reserves the right to postpone or cancel any course due to low enrollment. In such cases, participants will receive a full refund or may transfer their registration to a future session.
